‘Strange’ fliers rustle Downtown Auburn

-A +A
A flier with a desperate message caught the attention of Downtown Auburn business professionals Thursday. Rudy Rivero, owner of Art Accents on Lincoln Way, said when he arrived at his shop at 9:30 a.m. he found a “strange” flier taped to the front window. The flier has a picture of a young boy looking downcast with the handwritten words “Plese Help me” written above it. The flier appears to be written by someone named Michael Couzens Klapheck and describes how he is scared and wants to find a safe place. He is asking for someone to help him. When called late Thursday afternoon, the number at the bottom of the flier was disconnected. Rivero said he alerted Auburn Police Department dispatchers to the flier, who said they were aware of it. They advised him to disregard it. A police department spokesman was unavailable late Thursday afternoon. - Jenifer Gee
