‘Firearms season’ was incorrect

-A +A
A small item on page A7 of the paper (Journal, Nov. 28) stirred my ire. The first sentence in “Grandmother bags five-point buck” concludes with “...the Macomb County grandmother always is ready for firearms season.” Since when has there been a “season” for firearms? “Deer season,” “duck season,” are just fine but firearms ownership and use are a year-round right, not something relegated to a “season.” I realize this article was probably taken verbatim from your AP feed but some editing would have helped. And, I think most people would finish the sentence with “ always ready for deer season.” Thanks for letting me vent. Don Bradway, Auburn
