Arrest after search yields stolen jeansBy: Gus Thomson, Reporter/Columnist
More than $1,000 in stolen jeans were recovered after an SUV that turned out to also be stolen was pulled over in North Auburn by a deputy, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said.
The vehicle was reported stolen from Sparks, Nev. and the jeans were discovered inside the car during a search that followed the arrest of 28-year-old Kayla Denise Terrell near Enterprise Drive.
Before the arrest, jail records show that Terrell also is purported to have given the deputy a false identity.
Bail was set at $160,000 on a burglary charge. Terrell was also arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen property and taking the SUV without the owner’s consent.
Terrell remained in Placer County Jail today after being arrested Jan. 2.
The Sheriff’s Office said that the arresting deputy is following up to determine where the jeans were stolen from.
