Get ready for more rain and snow in Placer County - depending on what elevation you’re in - but the storms will be weaker than the barrage of wind and precipitation that struck overnight Sunday and Tuesday, the National Weather Service forecasts.

The weather bureau’s predictions Wednesday were for more rain and snow showers through this morning said. Up to 0.25 inches was expected for the foothills, with Shasta County bearing the brunt of the storm and an expected inch of rain and upt to a foot of snow over Lassen Peak.

Dry weather is to follow today but a weak system moving in Friday afternoon and lasting through Saturday morning will bring an increased chance of more rain, the Weather Service said.

Still another system is anticipated Sunday but there was some uncertainty among forecasters on how much wind and rain it would bring.

Winds were to die down into the afternoon today, with a weather bureau warning that branches could snap from the force. Among the branches that came down over the past week was one just outside the now-closed DeWitt Theater in North Auburn.
