Continuing their sizzling start to the 2017-18 season, the Colfax Lady Falcons’ basketball team stayed on the win trail Wednesday night with a 58-30 Pioneer Valley League victory at Center.

Using a swarming defense as their catalyst, the Lady Falcons limited the Cougars to just two first half field goals on their way to building a 23-11 halftime lead. From there, after the two teams played even in the third canto, Colfax blew the game open with a 21-5 fourth quarter explosion.

For the Lady Falcons, the win improved the team’s PVL record to 2-0 and upped their overall season mark to 17-1.

This season’s start by the Lady Falcons is the best at Colfax since the 1996-97 team started that year going 20-2.

Coach Jim Ryan’s Lady Falcons eventually went 30-5 before falling in the CIF Northern California Div. IV semi-finals to Campolindo.

Colfax was led Wednesday evening by the three-pronged offensive spark of Grace Bliss with 18 points, Annaliese Ballowe’s 15 points and 14 from Caleigh McClenahan.
