Placer Athletic Hall of Fame now accepting nominationsBy: Press Release
The Placer High School Athletic Hall of Fame is now accepting applications for the Class of 2019. Nomination forms must be submitted by Nov. 1, 2018, and may be obtained in the office at Placer High School, online at the school website, or at placerathletichalloffame.org.
The purpose of the Athletic Hall of Fame is to honor and enshrine those Placer High School athletes, teams, coaches, staff, and community members for their excellence and extraordinary contributions to Placer High School athletics. Nominees must have demonstrated integrity, sportsmanship and character values consistent with their status as a role model to the school and community.
If nominating, please provide as much information about the nominee as possible. All candidates will be judged on their significant and/or long-term contributions to interscholastic athletics. While many have served over a long and distinguished career, their accomplishments must have been worthy of recognition for them to be considered.
Last year was the fourth year for the Placer Athletic Hall of Fame. The following athletes were inducted: Steve Stratton (football, wrestling), Akil Jackson (football, wrestling, baseball), Christa Gannon (basketball), Jimmy Carroll (basketball) and Britni Webb (tennis).
Other inductees included John Volek (college football coaching), the 1972 boys basketball team, and staff/community contributor, Alex Blanca.
Completed forms can be submitted to Placer Athletic Hall of Fame, P.O. Box 9175, Auburn, CA, 95604. Nominees who are accepted will be honored at a ceremony in the Earl Crabbe Gymnasium in April, 2019.
