Crime In Your Community: Sprint tower theft; Gold-laden sand pile missing; More

Oct. 30

Rose Ann Miller Lathum, 34, of Merced was arrested in the 2200-block of North Auburn’s Grass Valley Highway on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

 

Oct. 29

Theft of a pile of sand in the 6300-block Baltimore Mine Road of Foresthill was reported. The sand is alleged to contain gold and was stored for nearly 40 years on the property.

Paulette Kay Bellmer, 60, of Auburn was cited on suspicion of shoplifting $830 worth of goods from North Auburn’s Target.

James Edmond Guidi, 39, of Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of meth. The arrest was in the 1400-block Auburn Ravine Road of Bowman.

 

Oct. 28

Nicholas Jay Carnline, 22, of Reno was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The arrest on Interstate 80, west of Applegate, followed the sighting of a vehicle traveling 30 mph on the freeway and then the driver stopping the car next to the center divider to get out and urinate. The arrest took place shortly after 5 p.m.

A 53-year-old Sacramento woman said she left her cell phone unattended at Thunder Valley Casino in rural Placer County near Lincoln and returned 20 minutes later to find it missing. Value of the purloined phone is $200.

A home was burglarized in the 15200-block Woodmont Lane area of Meadow Vista. Appliances and tools valued at $11,380 were stolen.

 

Oct. 27

Willard Walter White Jr., 48, of North Auburn was arrested in the 100-block of Bowman’s Covey Road on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm. Deputies responded to a report of multiple shots fired and a woman screaming.

A window on a vehicle parked in the 11500 block of North Auburn’s Garnet Way was broken to steal a backpack inside.

 

Oct. 26

Backup batteries were stolen from a Sprint cell tower at 7110 Douglas Boulevard in Granite Bay. Value of the batteries is $3,300.    

Lisa Michelle Halley, 47, of Auburn, was cited on suspicion of stealing $111 in merchandise from the North Auburn Target store.

Paul Eric James, 48, of Roseville was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The arrest took place in the 100-block of Roseville’s Hap Arnold Drive.

 

Oct. 25

David Gilbert Molina was contacted at the AM/PM gas station pumps in the 4000-block of Douglas Boulevard in unincorporated Placer County after an expired registration was spotted by a deputy. A check revealed Sacramento and Placer County warrants for his arrest. A search of the vehicle Molina was driving found burglary tools, which led to Molina’s arrest.

 

Oct. 24

Joseph Trent Espinoza, 27, of Elk Grove was arrested in the Granite Bay Walmart parking lot off Douglas Boulevard on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

 

Oct. 23

Katie Evelyn Saetta, 33, of Cameron Park and Jonathan Brent Hodgkins, 38, of Sacramento, were arrested in the 6600-block of Granite Bay’s Lakeview Drive after deputies were called to an alarm activation at a residence under construction. The two were arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of burglary tools and possession of narcotics.

 

Oct. 20

Eggs were thrown and pellets were shot from a BB gun in an act of vandalism around midnight Oct. 18 in the 5900-block of Horseshoe Bar Road in Loomis that was reported two days later. The perpetrator was described as in his 20s, skinny and tall. He got into a blue Honda Fit or similar vehicle before being driven away by a conspirator.
