Soroptimists, Lions ready to give this holiday season

-A +A

Colfax clubs are making preparations for another holiday season of giving.

“We hope this holiday season is a joyful one for you and your family,” said Cyndi Ray, Soroptimist International of Colfax, corresponding secretary and publicity. “Please join us in making the holidays brighter for those in need.”

Christmas Basket Project

Each year community organizations in Placer County collect and distribute food, clothing, and toys to families in their community. Soroptimist International of Colfax is again preparing for the 40th annual Christmas Basket Project in Colfax.

Those in need of a Christmas Basket and have not received an application in the mail, look for them at post offices in Colfax, Weimar, Applegate, Gold Run, Dutch Flat, Alta, Emigrant Gap, and Soda Springs, Sierra Vista Community Center, Mar Val, Lighthouse Real Estate, Colfax Library, and area schools. Applications are required to participate and completed applications must be received by Dec. 3. Mail applications to the appropriate organization listed on the back based on physical address. Applicants from Colfax, Applegate, Gold Run, Alta, Dutch Flat, Emigrant, and Soda Springs need to mail their applications to Soroptimist of Colfax P.O. Box 475 Colfax, CA 95713.

Coat drive

The Lioness Club of Colfax will also be at Sierra Vista Community Center during the Christmas Project with their annual Coat Give Away. They provide coats, clothing, hand-knitted hats, scarves, and gloves. If you would like to donate coats, drop off locations are LeOrange Salon in Colfax and Weimar Hills School.
