Early this afternoon, a man wanted on a burglary warrant was spotted in the Auburn area by a Placer County sheriff’s deputy, according to Sheriff’s Office Lt. Andrew Scott.

Deputies began searching for Allen Scott, 31, of Auburn near Perry Ranch Road in Ophir at about 1:30 p.m. according to law-enforcement officials.

The suspect fled into the area of the Union Pacific railroad tracks at Bloomer’s Cut after deputies attempted to stop him, authorities said.

Placer County sheriff’s deputies were able to capture Allen around 30 minutes later, according to law enforcement officials.

“The Falcon 30 (Placer County Sheriff department helicopter) began searching not too long after the suspect fled from deputies,” Lt. Andrew Scott said. “He was then located by canine units as he was hiding along the railroad tracks.”

Allen Scott was wanted on a $300,000 felony burglary warrant in Placer County.
