Man dodges bullet; Recyclables ripoff; Safecracker foiled

Placer County Sheriff’s Office reports are used as the basis for Crime In Your Community. Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Also, charges reported here may be dropped or changed.

Rayshane Olivie Sipert, a 32-year-old Sacramento transient, was arrested outside the Granite Bay Walmart on Douglas Boulevard on suspicion of theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and then delaying an investigation by a peace officer. The suspect is alleged to have taken a fighting stance and screamed for a deputy to shoot him, before being taken into custody after control holds were used.

Nov. 22

A backpack was stolen from an unlocked truck parked in the 3600-block of Roseville’s Country Park Drive. A credit card from the backpack was used to buy $200 worth of merchandise at a gas station.

Nov. 21

Jesse Franklin Hooper, 51, of North Auburn was arrested in 12300-block Locksley Lane in North Auburn on suspicion of meth possession.

Mail was stolen from two mailboxes in the 1000-block of Moffett Ranch Road in Colfax.

Nov. 19

Penryn’s Beach Hut Deli, in the 2200-block of Taylor Road, reported a burglary, with a would-be safecracker unable to open a ground safe. Nothing was reported stolen. The break-in took place between 5 a.m. and 5:05 a.m.

A window was broken and siding was ripped on a house in a construction zone at Ravens Nest and Black Falcon Drive in North Auburn. Owner Western Care Construction of Rocklin estimated there was $1,400 damage.

Three tires were punctured and flattened on a travel trailer parked in the 6100-block of Rachael Lane in Loomis. Damage was $660.

Nov. 18

Royal Signs and Graphics, 41035 Grass Valley Highway in North Auburn reported a rock being thrown through a window, causing $300 in damage.

Angela Lotze, 43, of Dutch Flat was arrested on suspicion of shooting at a 29-year-old Dutch Flat man in an incident in the 2600-block of Moody Ridge Road in the mountain community. The man claimed he was fired at while parked on the road and was able to flee "at a high rate of speed" in his vehicle. One round was allegedly fired in the early afternoon incident.

Nov. 17

Ten bags of recyclable aluminum cans worth $150 were reported stolen from Don Robinson Sand and Gravel, 2145 Grass Valley Highway in North Auburn.

A 1700-block Kellogg Road resident in Newcastle reported $1,500 tools were stolen from a garage.

Paula Rae Ballesteros, 48, of Sacramento was cited on suspicion of possession of meth and being a felon in possession of pepper spray. The citation was issued in the 9700-block of Weddington Circle in Granite Bay.

Anthony Gerald Willoughby, 29, of Roseville was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The arrest took place at about 10:30 p.m. at Lincoln Way and Ferguson Road in Bowman.

Nov. 16

A catalytic converter was stolen off a truck in the 3300-block of Swetzer Court in Loomis.

 

Nov. 15

A Bobcat tractor valued at $50,000 was stolen from a contractor in the 9300-block Crocker Road of Granite Bay.

A fence was cut to to drive onto a 3400-block Nader Road property near Lincoln. The two people on quad runners who entered the property were wearing masks. Nothing was reported stolen.

 

Nov. 9

A locked garage was broken into and $800 in property was stolen. The break-in took place in the 12300-block of North Auburn’s Erin Drive.
