Auburn’s Len Ganz lights a candle during Tuesday’s Menorah Lighting ceremony in Central Square. The ceremony, attended by about 35 people, is part of the Jewish Hanukkah celebration, also known as the Festival of Lights. Rabbi Yossi Korik of the Chabada of Placer County said Hanukkah represents a “victory of light over darkness, good over evil” that can spread from a simple candle out into the world. Also part of the celebration, Mendel Korik plays the “Dreidel Song” on the flute.
