Golf cart parade tees off holiday seasonBy: Michael Kirby, Photographer
The Woodside Village Mobile Home Park got into the Christmas spirit with their annual light parade Friday night. Not quite as mighty as the Auburn’s Festival of Lights, but just as fun, several residents placed lights and decorations on golf carts and cars for the parade. Meeting in front of their clubhouse at near dark they fell in line in their carts for a festive tour though the park. Some residents came outside clapping and cheering as the group drove by. The parade participants and other residents gathered in the clubhouse for hot drinks and treats after the parade.
“We make a tour of the park, sometimes other resident’s wave and offer us cookies,” said event organizer Ruth Dugan. “We meet in the clubhouse for hot apple cider, eggnog, hot chocolate and fellowship after the parade.”
