Live Oak Waldorf School will host a Cornhole in the Foothills Tournament fundraiser beginning at 3 p.m. April 21 at Crooked Lane Brewery in Auburn. Cornhole players from all over are invited to play for a cash prize and the honor of being named the “Cornhole Wizard.”
“I created this event because I thought, what a fun way to raise money and support my kids school,” said David Smiley, tournament organizer and current parent at the school. “Cornhole is a fun, easy to play game that seems to bring community and healthy competition together.”
The tournament fundraiser is designed to support the school’s general operating budget, which includes support of the 16 members of the teaching staff.
“We all know that teachers in this country are not paid nearly enough, so this is my way of helping support where I can,” Smiley said.
