Elks Lodge to offer Hunter Education Course

When: 6-9:30 p.m. April 13 and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. April 14

Info: Attendees must pre-register online by 6 p.m. April 13.
The Auburn Elks Lodge is hosting the California Hunter Education Course, a 10-hour program that starts April 13.
The course is a state- authorized program, required for purchasing a California hunting license or out-of-state licenses. It’s also recommended for anyone interested in firearms safety and usage, a press release said.
Course manuals and materials are provided free of charge.
Subjects include:
Usage and safety of rifles, shotguns, handguns and bows
Wildlife conservation and management
Game care
Game and firearms laws
The course is free and will include soft drinks both days, and lunch on Saturday. Attendees must be able to sit attentively through nine hours of instruction and take a 100-question test, consisting of true/false and multiple-choice questions.
Attendees must pre-register at by 6 p.m. April 13 to attend the course. The next course is tentatively scheduled for Aug. 10-11.
