Crime in Your Community: Coke, stolen gun in Placer County traffic stop; Landscaper's tools stolen at Home Depot; More

May 1

A traffic stop on Foresthill Road at 2:16 p.m. resulted in two arrests. Luis Garcia-Contreras, 22, of Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, giving false identification to law enforcement and possession of cocaine. Alyssa Del Rosario, 23, of Nevada City was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth.

Donnas Brian Hoskinis, 47, a transient, was arrested on a probation violation after being issued multiple citations leading up to his being taken into custody, including two the days before. The arrest took place at 3 p.m. in North Auburn’s Regional Park.

Mail was stolen in the 400-block Ridgewood Way of Meadow Vista. A person in a white sedan was seen pulling up to the mailbox and removing a check for $303.

April 30

Drills were missing after theft from a vehicle on North Dowd Road in Lincoln. Value of the missing equipment was $240.

An unlocked church shed was entered and $350 in property was stolen. A man driving a dark-blue Volkswagen Jetta was seen in video from New Hope Lutheran Church, 22200 Foresthill Road.  

April 29

Devon Cole Porteous, 27, of Auburn was cited and released on a promise to appear in court on suspicion of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. The arrest took place in the 23100 block of Foresthill Road after a vehicle stop.


April 28

Brandon Sean Pace, 27, of Rocklin was arrested by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Deputies assisted with the vehicle stop at Highway 65 and Riosa Road in the Lincoln area.


Kyle James Richner, 38, of Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth and a meth pipe. The arrest took place on Twelve Bridges Drive in the rural Lincoln area.


April 26

A landscaper who parked his 2108 Silverado truck outside North Auburn’s Home Depot reported having $2,505 worth of tools stolen from the back of the pickup. The theft was reported at 9:30 a.m.


April 21

Copper, a shotgun and a drill set were reported stolen from a 7300-block Ridge Road property in Newcastle. Value of the missing items was an estimated $2,150.    

 

April 26

A workshed at the Newcastle Cemetery on Taylor Road was broken into. An estimated $821 in tools, including a string trimmer and blower were reported missing.

April 24

Entry was gained through an unlocked window and a cash box was stolen from a 7000-block Baxter Grade residence in rural Auburn. Losses were pegged at $1,030.

April 22

A Winnebago was broken into in the 10000 block Quail Hill Drive in Newcastle. Damage was estimated at $500 but nothing was apparently stolen.
