FORESTHILL — Under cloudy skies and cooler than normal June temperatures, Foresthill High School's graduation ceremony was held Saturday in Sebastian Stadium behind the school. A capacity crowd was on hand to watch 56 of their sons and daughters bask in the glow of their culminating high school achievement. Smiles were apparent on the proud seniors as well as many tears of joy and pride from moms, dads, brothers, sisters and grandparents. Family members watched as, one by one, seniors were called to the stage to receive their diploma, smile for the camera and walk across the stage. For each grad a brief reading was done informing all what the senior’s goals were for the coming year and beyond and their favorite high school memory. It was also an opportunity to thank any and all who held a special place in each graduate's life and helped usher them to a new beginning. A large contingent of graduates plan to attend Sierra College in the fall while a number will be starting at four-year schools such as Arizona State University, San Francisco State University and Long Beach State University. The most often cited reason to attend Sierra College was affordability with plans to transfer to a four-year school. This year marked the second class to go all four years at the high school and the third class to graduate in the school's five year history.
