Two back-to-back shows will be at the Grass Valley Elks Lodge.

Music of the Talking Heads will be performed reggae style by Mystic Bowie’s Talking Dreads on Aug. 17. The following day, winner of NBC’s “The Voice” — Sawyer Frederick’s — will perform.

The Talking Dreads is the brainchild of Jamaican-born Mystic Bowie, best known as a vocalist of the Tom Tom Club, the hit side project of Talking Heads co-founders Chris Franz and Tina Weymouth. The Talking Dreads deliver iconic hits driven by joyous rhythms and jubilant island vibes. The Talking Heads hits – “Psycho Killer,” “Burning Down the House,” and “‘This Must Be The Place” – re-imagined reggae/Caribbean style.

Singer-songwriter Sawyer Fredericks, 19, hailing from his family’s farm in central New York is fast establishing himself as an authentic original, Americana artist. His deep, beyond-his-years lyrics and melodies, raw, soulful vocals, and powerful live performances have attracted an ever growing number of devoted fans of all ages, selling out shows throughout the U.S.

The two shows are presented by The Center for the Arts.
