Anderson homers in Bear River's 11-5 loss to Lincoln
Travis Anderson hit a solo 370-foot homer to center and allowed just two earned runs in six innings of work, but it wasn’t enough for the Bruins to overcome Lincoln in an 11-5 Pioneer Valley League-opening loss.
Bear River (1-5) made five errors on the day in their first home game of the season.
“That’s the big issue with our team this year,” said coach Dahorl Ennis. “We’re averaging four or five errors a game this year.”
The Bruins took an early 1-0 lead, and the game remained close until Bear River’s errors put the game out of reach.
Anderson was 2 for 4 from the plate, with two RBI. Jake Sypnicki and Andrew Harris were also 2 for 4. Michael Raigoza and Andrew Reiss each picked up a hit.
Lincoln improved to 6-0.
Bear River returns to the diamond Friday when it heads to Foothill for a 4 p.m. ballgame.
