Dust off your vocal cords! The Auburn Recreation District is offering four and a half hours of singing lessons on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, July 9, 11 and 12, for $30. The class is held from 6:30-8 p.m., so most working folks can attend.
The class is taught by Clifford Johnson, who has six years’ experience singing with the local barbershop singing group, the Sierranaders. He’s also had private coaching, has attended workshops and is eager to share what he’s learned to help others sing better and, hopefully, lose their fear of singing with others.
“Singing and music is indigenous to the human soul,” is his firm belief.
For those who would like, anyone in the class can sing as a group the two songs learned in class on the Monday following the class for a very receptive audience, the Sierra Gold Chorus, a Sweet Adelines group.
Register for class at www.auburnrec.com, or swing by the ARD office, 123 Recreation Drive, Auburn.
