Pet thieves are on the loose. Left and right, pets are disappearing. People are buying tracking devices and security systems as though their pets were an expensive vehicle. But with prices labs pay for a pooch or pussy cat it is easy to see why there is a growing trend in pet robbers. It also doesn’t help that the animal shelters and animal rescue groups charge as much for a mutt as a breeder would for a pure blood. It also gives way to suspicion in regards to the rise in trend of impounding our pets. As much as $300 can be charged for the pound to hold a pet, or more. Why so much? Sabrina Hocking Cangemi, Auburn
