Are we powerless to prevent outages?

This is regarding Dec. 8th’s “Auburn: 3,000-plus without power” article. I think PG&E needs to update all of their equipment because when the snow storm hit Auburn the other day and trees fell down onto PG&E power lines, 3,000-plus lost power for more than a few hours; some lost power for two days. I think it’s stressful to not have power and it’s frustrating, especially, when it is cold and there is no power in your house. I think it’s time for PG&E to get new equipment or move the power lines underground so we don’t have problems like this. KAITLIN WOYTUS, student at E.V. Cain Middle School, Auburn
