Assistance League teddy bear program helps comfort kids

-A +A

Assistance League of Greater Placer’s Sierra Bears program began in 1989.

Since then, more than 8,100 teddy bears have been given to children in our community to offer comfort and reassurance during a traumatic event.

Bears are provided to all Placer County hospital emergency rooms, the California Highway Patrol, Auburn Fire and Police Departments, the Sheriff’s Department and to the Sutter Auburn Faith Children’s Bereavement Program.

Funds to support Assistance League programs, which last year touched the lives of more than 9,800 children and adults in our community. are provided through grants, fundraisers donations and money raised from the Thrift Shop at 1263 Grass Valley Highway, Auburn.
