Auburn ‘mural’ disappoints

-A +A
Sometimes you just scratch your head and wonder how something as horrid as the recently painted No Hands Bridge “mural” that now graces the side of Rico’s Barbershop happens. While I don’t pretend to be an art aficionado, I know junk when I see it. This is a horrible reflection on the Auburn community and worse, an unmitigated disgrace to our talented Auburn Arts community. A blank slate on the side of the building would be an improvement of quantum proportion. I’ll donate the paint to cover it up. While I applaud the enthusiasm of those who want to get involved and improve our visual environment, I’m disappointed that the powers-that-be didn’t provide thoughtful oversight before this “art” was commissioned and allowed to blight our community.
