A fire in an upper floor unit at an Auburn apartment complex Tuesday evening sent two people to the hospital. According to Darin Nelson, fire captain at the Cal Fire Grass Valley Command Center, Cal Fire received a report of an alarm activation at 9:02 p.m. Tuesday. The call came from the apartment complex at 12199 Gateway Court, Auburn. Multiple 911 calls also came from tenants and neighbors of the complex, he said. A total of four ambulances responded and 12 to 13 personnel. Details were unavailable at press time but Nelson said two persons were transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for injuries sustained in the fire. Two persons refused transport, he added. Cal Fire could not provide names of the injured or a damage report at press time. ~ Staff report
