-A +A
The Auburn Cruise Nite car show commemorated the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks during the last show of the season on Sept. 9 at the Auburn Promenade. Directed by Judy Noren, the event featured a processional by the Sacramento Freelancers Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps and was followed by patriotic songs sung by Noren with accompaniment by Parmys Weinberg. The Placer County Sheriff's department presented the flags and the Placer County Chaplaincy led an invocation, followed by readings from Noren and community leaders. This is the 10th year Auburn Cruise Nite has had a ceremony. "I think it was outstanding," said Jack Kenny, Auburn Cruise Nite Committee co-chairman. "The whole show was outstanding."
