Re: “Could dam plan be back?” (Journal, Dec. 2). It is absurd that Auburn is even thinking of getting a dam. It cost $6- to $10 billion. The government is wondering why they are so poor when they spend so much money on useless stuff. We won’t make tons of money off of the dam. A lot of the fish will die and more people will come to Auburn, which means more houses and more traffic. Then that will make the town bigger, but people like this town small. This is just a bad idea all around. The cost of the dam outweighs the gain. There is no way California and the federal government will make all that money back. And, if we do it, it will take a long time, so we’re talking years from now. JASON KENNEDY, student, Auburn
