Auburn dam benefits who?

I am writing in response to the (March 18) letter written by Bill George regarding the cost of the Auburn dam that Congressman (Tom) McClintock supports. Mr. George is addressing the monetary cost of such a folly. My concern is the quality of life cost that this proposal entails. I would encourage Congressman McClintock to include environmental and recreation costs in his “cost-benefit analysis.” Congressman McClintock’s assurance that the beneficiaries will “pay” for this project rings hollow with me because his definition of beneficiaries has not been defined.
