I am deeply grateful to all the veterans who fought for us in all past and current wars. I thoroughly enjoyed Mary M. Anderson’s letter to the editor, “Twist of fate reunites men 66 years on,” (Reader Input, Nov. 11). My father was in the Battle of the Coral Sea, as radioman and gunner on the U.S.S. Lexington, May 7, 1942, and received the Distinguished Flying Cross. It would be interesting to me to hear if you were also were on the U.S.S. Lexington during the Battle of the Coral Sea.
