Auburn LL baseball, softball signups ongoing

Registration for Auburn Little League baseball and girls fast-pitch softball has begun for players ages 6 through 18 (as of July 31, 2004). Walk-in registration will continue at the Maidu Round Table Pizza from 5 to 8 p.m. this Tuesday, Jan. 13; and at both Auburn Recreation District gyms from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17. Players can also register at tryouts, which are scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24, and Sunday, Feb. 1. The tryout date in case of rain will be Saturday, Feb. 7. Softball tryouts will be on the upper Skyridge School field from 10 a.m. to noon. Baseball tryouts will be at ARD?s Recreation and James fields from 11a.m. to 5 p.m. Junior Division softball tryouts (ages 13-16) are set for mid-March. Returning players are mailed a packet and may register by U.S. mail. New players need to bring a copy of their birth certificate when they register. Pacific Pistols to hold tryouts The Pacific Pistols basketball club will hold tryouts for their 11-and-under team on Sunday, Feb. 8, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at Placer High in Auburn. There will be a $1 charge for each player to offset the cost of gym rental. To be eligible, a girl must have been age 11 or younger on Jan. 1, 2004. CMVA softball extends signups The last chance to sign up for the Colfax-Meadow Vista-Auburn girls fast-pitch softball league will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Mountain Mike?s Pizza in Meadow Vista. A certified copy of the player?s birth certificate must be turned in while registering new players. Any registrations received after Jan. 18 will be put on a waiting list and placed in a draft. Girls ages 5 to 16 (Pee Wee to Major divisions) must be of playing age as of Jan. 3, 2004.
