Auburn man arrested after threats
An Auburn man was arrested Monday night after he allegedly threatened someone with a BB gun, according to a press release by the Auburn Police Department.
George Michael Grantham, 54, of Auburn, allegedly held what was thought to be a handgun to his neighbor's head around 8:17 p.m. Monday, according to the release.
The victim was taken out of their room by police when they said Grantham shared a room next to theirs with another person on the 500 block of High Street. Grantham came out of his room while police were there and was arrested without incident.
The weapon Grantham allegedly used was later found to be a BB gun that resembled a .45 caliber handgun that the victim believed to be real at the time of the incident, the release said.
Grantham was booked at the Placer County Jail with bail set at $60,000.
