Auburn Police arrested a local man Wednesday on embezzlement charges after setting up a meeting to buy products he had allegedly taken.

Brennan Evan Beeby, 21, allegedly took several auto part items from his place of employment, according to a release issued Wednesday afternoon by the Auburn Police Department. The items had an estimated value of $3,400 according to the department. Beeby was allegedly selling the parts on a social website that specializes in buying and selling products.

Auburn detectives contacted Beeby through the website and set up a time to purchase some of the items at a local parking lot. After Beeby arrived with the property, he was taken into custody without incident and booked into Placer County Jail. Auburn Police detectives recovered several other embezzled auto parts after searching the suspect's residence.

Beeby, of Auburn, was in custody as of Wednesday with a bail of $5,000.

Anyone that might have additional information in regard to this incident is asked to contact Detective Dustin McLaughlin at (530) 823-4237.
