Another chance for local families to see movies under the stars is headed to a part of town near you.
Auburn Movie Night is beginning its second go-round June 15 in Central Square with “Secretariat.”
Mayor Bill Kirby, chairman of the Auburn Movie Night committee, said the movies will be shown on the city’s screen like last year. Kirby said he will be supplying free popcorn again this year.
Kirby said the committee is still looking for pre-movie entertainment and said anyone who is interested in participating can e-mail him at flyingsurgeon210@yahoo.com.
Kirby said he is excited for this summer’s set of movie nights.
“Linda Robinson, (president of the Old Town Business Association), and I started this last year and it ended up being very successful,” Kirby said. “And we have had some great people step up to help and this year should be better than ever. I hope the restaurants see some increase (in customers) and some of the shops stay open a little later and see some benefit.”
