The Auburn Little League Senior All-Stars earned a shot at revenge and a trip to Butte, Mont. with a 4-1 win over Colusa Wednesday night in Rio Linda. Auburn landed in the championship round of the Division II Tournament and will face Tahoe-Tallac tonight at 6:30 p.m. Against Colusa, Auburn’s Jenna Knox and Nicole Nevares combined on a four-hitter and did not allow an earned run. Knox struck out three in four innings while Nevares had two strikeouts in three innings. Kacy Romero sparked the offense, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Taylor Graham was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Auburn ended the game with a sweet double play. Graham fielded a grounder at third base and fired to Knox for the force-out at first base. Knox then threw home to catcher Kailey Gaffney, who tagged out the Colusa baserunner to end the game. Auburn must beat Tahoe-Tallac twice to win the tournament. A win tonight would force a winner-take-all title game Friday night at 6:30 p.m.
