Having been a resident of Auburn for a mere forty years and am still considered a newcomer by many. I live, work and raise my family within the limits of Auburn proper. Having served as the president of the Old Town Business Association, numerous committees and volunteering for many events and projects, I have seen our small town politics in all its glory. There are several things that are undeniable. First, to get two opposing fractions to agree on anything is all most impossible. Second, in times of need, personal differences are put aside and things get done. Lastly, in the end no matter the outcome, we shake hands and live to argue another day. These are a few of the reasons I support measure A. I know in the end these so called cliques?, which I refer to as my friends, fellow business people, neighbors and city leaders all have Auburn best interest at heart. To Todd Stenhouse, Northern California Carpenters Regional Council, and Engineers Local No. 3. I have a simple term for you, Carpetbaggers. If you are unfamiliar with the term, here is a simple definition from Webster?s. Noun- Outsider, especially: a non resident or new resident who seeks private gain from an area often by meddling in its business or politics. Please join me in voting yes on Measure A, or don?t.
