Augustino, Poppin help lead Forest Lake's homecoming victoryBy: Journal sports staff
With a little help, the Forest Lake Christian boys basketball team could come away with a Central Valley California League title.
They’d be sharing the crown with Delta and Woodland Christian if both of the foes lose their league finale and the Falcons can win at Sacramento Waldorf Tuesday at 8 p.m.
On Friday, Chase Augustino had 17 points and seven rebounds to help lead his Falcons past first-place Delta 52-49 during Forest Lake’s homecoming.
Jesse Poppin added 10 points and 10 boards and Brandon Camacho had seven points and grabbed five rebounds for the Falcons (18-7, 8-3).
Woodland Christian and Delta are both 9-2 in CVCL play.
