The body of an unidentified man was found at the base of the Foresthill Bridge Monday afternoon. Cal Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Brand said officials responded to a call of a person down underneath the Foreshill bridge just before 1 p.m. Brand said that a group of teens reported seeing a body lying on a concrete pad on the west side of the North Fork of the American River beneath the 730 foot tall bridge that connects Auburn to the Foresthill area. There is no confirmation whether a vehicle was found in the area of the bridge that might belong to the victim. Placer County Sheriff’s deputies, Cal Fire personnel and State Parks personnel recovered the body, Brand said. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. ~ Penne Usher
