It is as ridiculous for a nation to say to its citizens, “You must consume less because we are short of money,” as it would be for an airline to say, “Our planes are flying, but we cannot take you because we are short of tickets.” — Sheldon Emry, “Billions for the Bankers, Debts for the People” Send the following message to the miscreants of the executive office and Congress. Stop bailing out the losing gamblers of the financial cartel. Instead, bail out We, the People where few of us deserve the fate that has visited us. Send a few thousand to each of us. It will restart the economy. The new money will pass through many hands where you will regain a part of our bailout at each transaction through taxes. Our bailout may even become revenue neutral. Those lucky few who don’t need the money will deposit it in their banks, making new reserves to lend to reawakening businesses creating jobs. Some might even buy health insurance if they need it.
