Bast, Jones back at the top again

While Bart Bast once again found the fast track at Fast Fridays, Joe Jones proved he is a dominant force at the Gold Country Fairgrounds as well. Bast motored to the scratch main event win, strengthening his hold on the top position in the race for the track championship. Jones meanwhile, made it a perfect 4-for-4 in the sidecar races, taking first place with Tori Hubbert clinging to his back. Bast led from the start in the scratch main and was followed to the finish by Charlie Venegas, Ricky Wells and Tommy Hedden. Foresthill’s Kenny Ingalls won a hotly contested handicap main event in which Kell Kerrigan fell, causing a restart. Ingalls battled past Bast and Alex Marcucci for the win. Ingalls also took the scratch consolation, edging out Bryan Yarrow to claim the victory. Chad Felicio was the handicap consolation champion, beating Ricky Wells and J.T. Mabry. In the challenge elimination series, Ricky Wells took the top prize while JJ Martynse was second and Alex Marcucci third. Jay Ricketts beat out Danny Turner for the Division 2 main event win while Mike Achilles was third.. Rob Christian took the Division 2 consolation, just ahead of Danny Faria. Dustin Berdollt took first in the Division 3 main. Doug Geist was second and Adrian Contrares took third. Billy Vaughn won the Division III consolation and Kevin Ferreira was second. Tyler Warren was the Youth Division 1 winner and Thomas Reich was second. Kendra Warren took the Youth Division 2 and 3 crown, holding off Joe Dingle.
