Local law enforcement organizations, Placer County Sheriff, California Highway Patrol and Auburn Police Department gathered at Bel Air and Save Mart in Auburn for a collective effort to raise money for the Salvation Army during their annual Battle of The Badges Wednesday. The friendly competition between law enforcement agencies has been helping the Salvation Army for the past 5 years, of which the Placer County Sheriff department has won taking in the most cash every year. Donated money to The Salvation Army will help the community and others in need during this holiday season. "Donating is important," said Diane Landers after giving a few dollars."There's more needy people now than ever before. With this economy it's really sad to see. People who have more should give more."
