The Bruins are off the schneid. 

Justin Beskeen had 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Bear River boys basketball team to its first Pioneer Valley League victory with a 50-48 win over Center on Friday night in Antelope. 

Beskeen was also 5 of 6 from the foul line. 

Nick Bachus added 10 points for the Bruins, who led 29-26 at halftime and improved to 14-7, 1-4. 

With the loss, Center (5-16, 0-5) is the only PVL team to remain winless through the first half of the league slate. 

Bear River hosts Lincoln at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
