Editor’s note: Below is the first in a new series of profiles of people who submit letters to the Auburn Journal. It runs on Sundays. A visit with the Journal’s frequent letter contributors. Allen Cassidy Lives in: Auburn, 16 years Job: Community services officer at Auburn Lake Trails, in Cool. “I check buildings, talk to people, go out and help.” Favorite topics: I like to write about social and political issues. My biggest thing is helping the poor and the needy. I write in whenever I can. Does for fun: I really like to read and write, go out and talk to people on the street and get their views. I’ve written a dissertation on Rome and America, a comparative critique. I’ve got a compilation of medieval writings I started. I’ve sent my own writings to Oxford University in England, which are written in the 16th-century style. It’s very meaningful.
