Big coffers trump citizens

I could not agree more with Elinor Petuskey on why we in the United States don’t have decent affordable health care, like our allies (Reader Input, Dec. 30). Look only to how money flows into Congress. In the name of “freedom of expression” we have allowed corporations and their special interests to funnel so much money into campaigns that we no longer have true representation “for the people.”  One person, one vote. The large coffers of a few should not drown out the needs and views of the many. This is not just a battle for the health care of our people, it is a battle for the health of our democracy.
