Big oil costs nation dearly

Big oil has been profiting from pollution for too long, so why are we spending precious taxpayer dollars to keep it up? Last week in Rocklin and Auburn, Environment California and local residents protested Congressman (Tom) McClintock’s wasting of billions of taxpayer dollars on big oil. After all, the top five oil companies just reported $67 billion in profits in the first half of this year. It’s time for us to get off oil through clean car regulations, for one, and to stop handing tax breaks to a polluting industry that costs us dearly in the form of air pollution, global warming and oil spills.
