Yes, I also support the Occupy Davis movement. The time has come for such an uprising. Perhaps it is not too late for a fundamental change. As Howard Zinn said, “Change begins at the bottom.” He also said that those in power never change without a struggle. All voices and issues are heard in the Occupy movement. The anti-war people are there. The protests against the higher and higher cost of a college education are in evidence. The grievances against a rigged society are heard. The unemployed and underemployed are angry. The corporations and the rich have swallowed up the political process with their paid stooges. There is a loud cry against the greed and moral idiocy of the Wall Street banksters. An example of this obscene and rapacious behavior is the misconduct of Goldman Sachs. It has used billions of taxpayer dollars to enrich itself and reward its top executives. The senior employees were handed a staggering $18 billion in 2009, $16 billion in 2010 and $10 billion so far in 2011 in mega-bonuses. This massive transfer of wealth upward by the Bush and Obama administrations now totals $13 trillion to $14 trillion. This largesse went into the pockets of those who carried out fraud and criminal activity, rather than to the victims, who lost their jobs, their savings and their homes. So it goes.
