Boys & Girls Club hosts Celebration

-A +A
The Boys & Girls Club of Auburn has plenty to celebrate these days. It’s the club’s 15th year in Auburn, and everyone’s settling nicely into the new Clubhouse, a Lincoln Way campus boasting three times the square footage of the old Downtown Clubhouse. So, what better time to have a party? The Boys & Girls Club hosts its Summer Celebration, offering six hours of food and fun at the new Clubhouse. Anyone who likes fun, and is 21 or older, should buy their tickets now, said Debbie Perrault, Boys & Girls Club development coordinator. Barbecue dinner includes ribs, chicken, corn on the cob, salads, cake and more. Auburn 49er Lions are manning a no-host bar. Essex, out of Sacramento, is scheduled to perform from 8 p.m. to midnight. The celebration also features silent and live auctions. “We’ll be under the stars in the beautiful Sierra Foothills. What’s better than that?” Perrault said. Perrault said a huge part of the proceeds go into Boys & Girls Club programs, thanks to sponsorships and in-kind donations. The Auburn community has been instrumental in getting the Boys & Girls Club to this point, Perrault said. “Our community just jumps in, and people are happy to help, and that’s why I feel we’ve been so successful,” she said. ~ Loryll Nicolaisen __________ Summer Celebration What: Boys & Girls Club of Auburn party When: 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday Where: Downtown Clubhouse, 679 Lincoln Way Cost: $25 if purchased by 6 p.m. Friday, or $35 at the door Info: (530) 889-2273 or
