Bruins prevail in duel with Diamondbacks

The Bear River High softball team stepped out of the Pioneer Valley League for a 4-1 win at Union Mine Wednesday. Kenzie Billings and Erin Nichol combined for the win while the Bruins manufactured enough offense to get the win. Billings pitched four innings and gave up four hits while Nichol surrendered three hits in three innings to get the saev. Courtney Ceo tripled and scored on a groundout by Katie Mathis to open the scoring. Jen Brooks singled home a run before Courtney Edwards brought in Sierra Pruss with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning. Stephanie Ceo was 2-for-3 at the plate for Bear River (21-3).
