Canal victims more than a statistic

Hopefully, someone finds out what happened to these men in the canal, (Journal, Nov. 30). Did they fall in or were they pushed? (That) six men drowned in the same canal over a period of a year and a half, is suspicious. It’s a tragic loss that needs to be resolved. And even though they were homeless, their deaths do mean something to a community that cares; not just faces in the newspaper, but people (human beings) who deserve a fitting eulogy of their lives, even if it is only a few simple words of support. They all had families who thought about their condition in life, and worried about the outcome. Let’s all try to remember those who are sick and destitute, and struggling with themselves, and have sympathy for them as they would for us, if they could. ALLEN CASSIDY, Auburn
