Senior Kacey Capuchino led the balanced Colfax High girls basketball team to a 51-38 victory at Lincoln Tuesday, all but securing a home playoff game for the Falcons.
Capuchino had 14 points, six rebounds and three assists as Colfax rallied from a 14-11 deficit, pulling away in the second and third quarters. Michelle Walker scored 11 and grabbed eight rebounds while Cassandra Campbell added 10 points and three assists.
The Falcons (15-11 overall, 8-3 Pioneer Valley League) will host Placer to close out the regular season Friday.
El Dorado 46, Placer 31 — The Lady Hillmen could not come up with enough offense to knock off the Pioneer Valley League champions.
Placer celebrated senior night as Kayla Reeves led the way ith 13 points and Bethany Feis added eight.
“We played well, we played good defense,” Placer coach Tony Camillucci said. “We just had a hard time scoring.”
El Dorado improved to 22-1 overall and 11-0 in the PVL while Placer fell to 7-16 overall and 5-6 in league play.
