This past Tuesday night (Aug. 14), I was leaving the Masonic Lodge at about 9:30.
As I was walking to my car, I could not help but smile as I looked at all of the people sitting around Central Square. Everyone was laughing and talking and having a wonderful warm summer evening.
We are so blessed to have this new means of gathering. I do not recall ever having a place such as this in Auburn, for people to just visit and relax.
I made a mental note to write this letter to the editor.
So, imagine my pleasure upon seeing the article in today’s paper, about the success of Central Square (“Central Square’s the place to be in Auburn,” Journal, Aug. 19).
Good job, City of Auburn, and the powers-that-be, that made the landscaping plan a reality.
