Chainsaw used to threaten roommate, police report

A 63-year-old man allegedly threatened his roommate with a chainsaw Thursday, according to a press release issued Friday. Marvin Daniels was arrested on charges of brandishing a weapon, making criminal threats and probation violation, according to Auburn Police. At about 12:13 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a dwelling near Gold and Virginia streets in Auburn after a report of a man threatening another with a chainsaw. Daniels allegedly chased his roommate down a hallway to a bedroom while carrying a revved up chainsaw, according to an Auburn Police press release. “Daniels then went outside and took the screen off the victim’s bedroom window and held the running chainsaw inside the window,” The release stated. “The victim was able to escape and ran to a neighbor’s house to call 911.” Daniels was booked into Placer County Jail and is being held without bail. ~ Staff report
